The lab has mordern tools for the chemical analysis of plant materials and study of their properties and constituents together with the development of suitable extraction methods on bench scale and pilot scale for their industrial utilization. Forest Chemistry Lab is actively engaged in research on extraction, identification and utilization of non wood forest products; biochemical analysis of oils and edible leaves available in eastern India.
